It's a Love Story

"He still doesn't trust me, but he forgives me," he smiled, seeing her smile.

She nodded. "Good. Look at this." she said, pulling out a scarf and draping it over her shoulders. "I can do so much with this." she chuckled.

He chuckled, glad to see her somewhat happy for the time being.

"We can come back tomorrow, right?" she asked, looking longingly at the scarf.

"Of course," he smiled. "We have until the end of summer to do whatever you want."

She nodded, putting the item back. "Alright. hope that's still here tomorrow."

He chuckled and offered his hand. "Another store? Or lunch?"

"uhm... lunch. I want my card before we go shopping again." she said.

He chuckled. "What do you feel like eating," he asked, walking out of the store with her.

"Something new." she said, slipping her hand into his again.

"What haven't you had to eat in Italy that you've always wanted," he asked her.

"I don't know." She shrugged. "Surprise me."

He grinned and took her to the first restaurant he saw. "Order whatever you want," he smiled. The prices weren't on the menu, so she wouldn't know how much her food would cost.

Lilli nodded, ordering a pizza. She hoped that it would be different because she was where the pizza's were invented.

Dante smiled and handed the cashier his card, not wanting the receipt. He sat down at a table with Roman and waited for their number to be called.

"how come you didn't take a receipt?" she asked.

"I don't want you to worry about how much it was," he chuckled. "And our number is 732."

She nodded. "Alright." she smiled.

As their number was called, Dante stood. "I will get it," he smiled and went to get it. He laid it down on the table. "Would you like me to get you a drink?"

She nodded. "I'll have whatever you're having."

He nodded and went to get a soda for each of them. He set the sodas on the table and sat down next to her. "Dig in," he smiled at her.

She smiled and did just that, eating all of her pizza.

He chuckled and ate his food as he watched her. He found it cute how she wolfed it all down. "Don't burn your mouth," he warned.

She smiled at him, slowing down. "Alright." she chuckled.

He got up to refill his drink. When he got back, he set it on the counter and took the necklace out of his pocket while standing behind her so she didn't know he was there. He unhooked it and put it around her neck, clipping it into place for her. He pulled her hair out of the chain gently and smiled softly at her. "We can go back for your scarf later," he murmured.
