Here We Go Again (Two Others, mkay? :D )

She breathed in and out slowly, shaking her head after a while. "No. I'm not."

He hugged her close. "They're gonna get you all fixed up and get that crap out of you," he murmured.

Brittany smiled. "Thanks love."

He kissed her forehead. "Anytime, honey."

Brittany smiled, laying back and rested her head on his shoulder.

"And now you're suddenly smiling... You're starting to scare me, honey," he admitted softly, holding her close.

She chuckled lightly, kissing his nose. "I can't deny that all of this is going on. There's nothing we can do to avoid it. However, I have a transplant this evening or early tomorrow morning... Things can get much better..."

He nodded. "That's true," he kissed her forehead.

Brittany sighed, closing her eyes as she rested her head on his chest. "I have to accept whatever happens..."

He held her close firmly, but gently.

"Justin," she whispered hoarsely, "I love you... Always." She closed her eyes feeling much weaker than she just had.

"I love you, too, baby," he whispered back, holding her close gently. He hated how hoarse she sounded.

Britt closed her eyes, sighing as her head sagged some. She knew the surgery wasn't going to go well. She was too weak to be able to do much on her own anymore, and after a lung transplant? Not a chance of her being able to breathe on her own yet... She might not make it. Actually, there was a large risk that she wouldn't make it, but the possibility of being with Justin forever was much more convincing than any chemotherapy.

He stroked her hair softly, kissing her forehead, a few more tears escaping.

Britt sighed, caressing his cheek as she fell into a dream-forgotten slumber. She didn't know how long she slept, but she felt it wan't nearly long enough.

Justin held her close gently, cherishing every breath she took, every beat of her heart. Because he wasn't sure how many more he would hear.

Brittany woke after a few hours, and had come to terms with the fact that she wasn't going to live. There wasn't a chance in hell. Her immune system had pretty much given up and she was feeling every heartbeat throughout her body, cherishing it while she could. She knew that what would end her would be what ended Justin. She couldn't handle losing him, and she knew he couldn't handle losing her. What was the worst part was that she knew that she would be the one dying first. "Justin," She whispered to him before the sun rose on her last day, "I love you. Forever. And I'll see you in heaven."

Justin opened his eyes when he heard her speak. Tears filled his eyes and spilled over his cheeks. "Please don't say that," he begged in a whisper, his voice cracking. "Stay with me, baby."

[*sniffles* I know right? TT-TT]

Brittany breathed lightly. She couldn't feel the pain anymore. "They're... Not able to... Save me. I'm... I'm so sorry." She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I can't stop it anymore," her voice cracking as she went still in his arms, "it's inevitable love... I have to go. I'll see you at the gates..." She felt the rest of her body shut down, heard the machines go off, and leaned up as much as possible. She kissed him softly as she died in his arms.

[NYUUUUUUUUUUUU TT~TT]

Justin shook his head, holding her close. "Don't leave me," he begged and kissed her softly, crying as he felt her body go completely limp, no heartbeat reverberating through her. "Brittany, please come back," he cried, burying his face in her hair. "Please come back..."

The doctors rushed into the room not a moment too soon, taking her body from Justin's arms. The attempted to recharge her heart, getting it pumping long enough to rush her to the OR. The organs had just come in, but they had not planned on her heart giving out. She would, if they saved her in time, be on a pace-maker for most likely the rest of her life.

Brittany couldn't feel anything. There was an extremely muffled sound in her ears while she searched for some sign of remembrance. She found a sort-of knob and turned it, a soft purple light falling out from behind it... She didn't picture heaven as a room with a view.... She pictured it as a huge white "place", something amazing and awe-inspiring... Not her old bedroom...

Justin paced impatiently in front of the operating room doors, looking as miserable as was possible. Please let her live. Please come back to me, baby, he prayed, tears falling down his face again. He didn't try to hide them. He didn't care who saw. If she didn't come back to him, he'd go to her. He didn't care.

The doctor's worked their hardest to get the surgery done in time. They bit the bone in a few places, almost losing her completely. There was no arm room, and yet the surgeons worked at super-human speed to save her. They knew that now Justin's life was riding on hers as well. They finished the surgery and began stitching her home, preparing the defribulators once the wound was sealed tight.

Brittany stepped up to the window of her room, looking out. There was a forest... A beautiful, dark forest and a wolf sitting at the tree-line. She closed her eyes and opened the window, jumping out. The pain of broken legs or shock impact never came. She opened her eyes slowly and realized that she was standing on air. She urged herself down and she started to descend, as if in an invisible elevator. She liked this world, and didn't much feel like going back to Earth now... If only Justin were here.

Justin looked through the or's windows, looking impatient and scared. He kept praying to Brittany or God or whoever heard him that she'd come back to him. Live, baby, live, he begged over and over.

As she stepped up to the wolf, it changed form. She was now staring into Justin's eyes, and his pleas were echoing through this world she was in. She stared, and the sound of him damn near broke her heart. She started crying, reaching for him. But everytime she would get her hand on him, he would disappear like a ghost then reappear a few feet further away. She fell to her knees, praying to whatever had brought her there to take her back.

As the doctors took the anesthesia off of her, the padals were applied. Her heart jolted with electricity, blood started to pump through her body again. It gave out, was rebulsed by the padals, and gave out again. They tried once more, and this time her heart kept beating. The only problem the doctors were now faced with was how long she would stay alive on her own... Especially since she seemed catatonic.
