It's a Love Story

she laughed and did a funny pose for his picture. "I feel like a model with you taking pictures."

He chuckled and took a snapshot. "You'll feel like one before I leave. You're the only one I'm going to take pictures of."

"But you've got a whole city to take pictures of." she said, a little confused.

"I didn't come to the city to see the city. I came to the city to see you," he smiled at her.

"I guess you did... Well, snap away." she shrugged.

He chuckled. "As you wish."

She smiled and kissed his lips softly. "Did you find anything good to eat yet?"

"I haven't been paying attention to food," he admitted, kissing her back softly.

She laughed and wrappped her arms around his neck. She kissed his lips and slowly lifted his cowboy hat off and put it on her own head. "We can eat later I guess."

He chuckled. "Yeah."

By the end of the week, Mike had to leave. Him and Lilli stood in the air port, holding each other. She had really fallen in love with him and wanted to be with him. She kept stealing his hat and he kept taking pictures. She looked up at him. "Call me when you land?" she asked, she couldn't really think of what else to say. She had a little present for him, but also didn't know when to give it to him.

Mike kissed her softly. "I will," he promised. "Don't let your sister get to you. We'll be together again, sooner than you think," he smiled.

She nodded. "I know we will. Oh... I've got something for you." she said, digging into her bag and pulling out a wrapped picture of the two of them. Him kissing her cheek and her grinning like mad with his hat on. It was in a nice frame and she had written 'I love you' on the side.

He unwrapped it and smiled, kissing her. "Thank you. I love you, too. Let me know when you're comin' over. I'll get yer mare for ya."

"A mare's a girl horse, right?" she asked, smiling. She knew it was and they'd been over it, she just wanted to tease him.

He chuckled. "Yes, a mare is a girl," he kissed her softly as his plane number was called. "I'll see you soon," he whispered. "I love you. Don't forget that," he took his cowboy hat and placed it on her head, giving her another quick kiss before he pulled away reluctantly and boarded his plane.

A tear fell down her face and she sighed, standing there until she saw his plane take off. Sighing, she went home, alone and to her sister.

After he landed, he text her, letting her know he landed safely and he missed her already. He got off the plane and got his luggage, then got into his parents' car after greeting them with hugs and kisses on their cheeks, and rode towards his house, where his excited little sister was waiting impatiently.

"Okay, Cassie, are you ready," Mike asked his little sister, smiling at her as he saddled Cloud and Rosebud to get ready to ride to the airport, which was about half an hour's ride from their house if the horses cantered the whole way.

"Ready," Cassie said happily, bouncing up and down excitedly as she finished brushing Rosebud's mane and went to put the brush away. Cloud nickered, nudging Mike's hand. He was itching to get going so he could run. Mike chuckled. "Be patient, boy. We'll get goin' soon," he patted his neck and picked Cassie up onto Rosebud's saddle and handed her the reins. "You know the rules, Cassie. If you break 'em, I have to steer for you," he warned her gently, getting up onto Cloud's saddle. "I know, I know! Can we go now," she asked impatiently.

Mike chuckled. "Alright. Follow me," he said and had Cloud go forward, towards the street that lead to the airport. The new mare, unnamed so far, was already in her pen in the back, grazing and waiting to meet her new owner.

Lilli's plane landed and Lilli stepped off, going through the airport. She was in tight jeans and a tee shirt but had good riding boots. She had Mikes hat on as she waited outside the airport for him.

Mike and Cassie finally arrived at the airport on horseback, which wasn't uncommon in this part of the country. Mike smiled, wearing another one of his favorite cowboy hats, as he took it off and waved to her. "Lilli," he called happily and stopped their family horses, helping Cassie down before he went to give Lilly a good long 'I missed you like crazy' kiss.

Lilli smiled and ran to him when she heard him call. She wrapped her arms around his neck, making him lift her slightly and kissed him back, letting it drag out a little. She pulled away and smiled at him. "I missed you so much." she said.

He spun her around and smiled. "I missed you, too. We've got a surprise for you back home," he winked and smiled at his little sister. "This is my little sister, Cassie. She helped me pick out your surprise."

The ten-year-old smiled happily and went to give her a hug. "I finally getta meet you! He hasn't shut up about you since he got back from the city," she giggled.

Lilli smiled, looking down at the little girl then hugging her back. "It's nice to meet you, Cassie," she said. "I think I may have some presents that might be just right for you." she winked at the little girl
