This Is Just A Dream

Jess smiled, lookin at the ceiling. "Oh, dang it... You figured me out."

Eric laughed. "Well, you'd have to catch me first," he smiled.

Jess laughed. "Well, I bet I could!"

He smiled. "I bet you could, too," he chuckled, standing. "But I've got to get to the ER. They might need my help down there, and you never know who comes through those doors."

Jess sighed, smiling. "Alright.. Hope you don't have any patients today.." She hoped he didn't have any kid patients especially...

He stood, smiling sheepishly. "I hope so, too. You're welcome to stay as long as you want, Jess," he smiled. "I already told the doctors you're my guest here. If someone questions you, just tell them you're with me, alright? I'll see you guys later," he smiled and walked out towards the ER.

Jess smiled, nodding. "Okay, I will." She sighed, sitting down in one of the chairs next to the table. "So, are you guys glad he liked te card?"

Katie nodded, smiling. "Yeah!"

Jess smiled. The kids love him so much.. I can easily see why... She rested her hands on her knees. "So Katie, what's your favorite thing about Eric?"

"He's nice and he takes the time to play with us," she smiled. "The other doctors hardly look at us when they give us our check-ups. They hardly explain what they're talking about, either, but Dr. Eric does."

Jess smiled. "So, what would you think if he left? I mean, he won't. I have a strong faith in that... But what if he had no choice?"

Katie frowned. "We would all be very sad..." The other kids nodded in agreement.

Jess nodded. "Oh I'm sure.. I wonder why they want Eric at that other hospital anyways.. They're probably jealous I bet."

"Probably," Katie smiled.

Jess chuckled. "I don't think they like the fact that you guys like Eric more than them.."

"Then they should be nicer," Katie nodded, puffing out her cheeks slightly.

Jess chuckled. "Definitely. I also think they're jealous cause he's younger..."

"That's not reason to be jealous," Katie frowned.

Jess smiled, nodding. "You're right.. Why do you think the doctors are jealous?"

"I don't know," Katie said, thinking hard.

Jess smiled. "I think Eric's just cooler than them personally..."

"That, too," Katie said happily.

Jess nodded, smiling. "So, we've established that Eric is not allowed to leave this hospital, right?" She chuckled. They talked about Eric alot. Anyone else would've thought they were going out.

"Yes," Katie nodded.

Jess smiled. "Good. When he gets back we'll tell him that." She closed her eyes and sent up a prayer to God that Eric didn't get moved to the other hospital.

"Yaaaay," Katie said, smiling.
