" What if the man wanted to feel like a french king?" Vinny joked lightly, keeping the situation light and enjoyable.

" Yes please I would like that very much" He smiled.

" No thank you." he smiled kindly.

Vinny still had his cover to keep. He couldn't afford loosing the boss' respect. He also didn't want to get involved with a woman while on mission. It wouldn't be a good thing to have happen. Rather careless.

He had passed his first test, so to speak, with flying colors. Victor respected him as a valuable new member and his wife was quite frankly enamoured with anyone who respected her cooking and (though he didn't know it yet) showed potential in becoming a husband to her daughter who wasn't getting any younger.

Angelina, of course, would disagree. A couple of weeks later she found herself in a speak easy, a shot glass of watered down rum infront of her. One of her friends was gossiping about her latest conquest with some guy she had met only the week prior, giggling and blowing blue smoke in Angelina's face. Coughing she briefly looked away and brushed some bangs from her eyes. Deep down she still missed her long hair, though she would never admit it. Just as she took a swig from her rum (putting great effort into not making a face over how horrible the garbage tasted) when the door was kicked down by a cop. Her friend grabbed her by the wrist and they started to back away into the shadows to make a run for it when she thought she saw a familiar face.

As people were starting to tense up the two officers walked toward the bar where they asked for two beers which were of course on the house. Oh, corruption.

Vinny was finding himself getting a little too comfortable in the life of a mobster. Things were great. But of course he had a cover to keep and people to bust.

While Angelina wanted to leave the bar, incredibly uncomfortable now that there was two cops (good cops or not) but her friend urged her to say, having taken a liking to one of the cops. She sighed and reluctantly followed behind her back to the bar where she promptly sat next to one of the cops and started to talk.

Vinny stopped in the speak easy. He wasn't going to have anything alcholic. He just wanted a place to cool off in. It was a scorcher today.

The friend of that cop that her own friend was foolishly flirting with started to take a liking to Angelina. "You're a cute little toy. Why don't you tell me your name, Sweetcheeks?" Angelina's brow raised and she looked at him with a disgusted expression.

"Excuse me?" she said, getting ready to get up.

"Come on, baby! Don't be a wet blanket! We all just want to have some fun!" He started to reach for her which lead to her slapping him in the face. "You little bitch!" he scowled, grabbing her roughly by the wrist. "Do you have any idea what I could have done to you?!" He snarled as he started to shove her down on the bar top, pressing her wrist to her back making her whimper.

" Hey hey whats going on here." Vinny said cooley. " Maybe you should cool your jets, " He said to the cop. His eyes danced dangerously. " Let the lady go and we won't have any issues."

The cop recognized Vinny, knowing that he was one of the more respected undercover cops at the agency. He could have easily blown his cover right there, though he wanted to make him squirm. "If I were you, Bud, I would mind my business and get out of here before everyone's cover is blown." This could be taken as either he was going to report all of the people in the speak easy or that he was going to blow Vinny's cover as a cop. "So why don't you just back off and let me handle this whore over here."

Angelina recognized the voice and weakly tried to turn over a bit to see him. "Vinny..." she whimpered, crying out as the cop added more pressure to her arm.

The air in the speak easy was more tense than it had been before.

" What kind of cop comes in here to get drunk while on job, hm? I would say your cover could easily be blown with a simple little alcohol test." he said smoothly. " We the people have the right to changing our law and justice departments. And you wouldn't like to be unemployed would you? Concidering, that my power outranks your title as a citizen of the united states." he said. " The people have the power, and if we see corruption guess what you go to jail. " he said. Of course this was coded for, I out rank you and they will believe me over you. you squeal and I will take you down to hell and you won't have a job.

The cop growled and thrown Angelina down to the floor. His partner who had been flirting with Angelina's friend even through the assault unwillingly got up and left with him, Angelina's friend getting up and following not far behind. Slowly the playful air from before was coming back, Angelina slowly getting up from the floor and brushing herself off. She had purple finger shaped bruises along her wrist and she knew she would need to hide them.

" Are you ok" he asked gently.

She nodded her head quietly, still examining the bruises on her wrist. "I don't know who my father will be more mad at, the cop for assaulting me or me for being in a speak easy." Even though her father was a bootlegger he looked down at most speak easies, mostly because for the most part they served watered down garbage. In his operation a lot of what they sold was home made wine- a family recipe.

"Er, thank you for helping me..." she whispered, blushing. She must have looked really horrible infront of him, a little drunk, her hair frazzled from being thrown and bruises on her.

" Well I'll cover for you. Don't worry about it. " he said. " Well lets get out of here."

He didn't have to tell her twice. She was already embarassed enough as is, she didn't need to stick around where they were still people looking at her and pitying her which was not something that she needed or wanted. As they walked out she saw the gray storm clouds and wondered what could get worse just as it started to pour down heavy rain.

Vinny pulled his coat over her,"lets try to find somewhere dry"

She gasped softly as he pulled her towards him, tugging his coat around her. It was warm against him and his coat smelled slightly of smoke and wine. Breathing it in she felt a bit calm and looked around quietly for a minute. It was really pouring down now, plastering her hair to her hair and her clothes to her body despite being underneath his coat. "Perhaps there's an abandoned warehouse nearby..." The Speakeasy itself was an abandoned sugar mill.

Vinny nodded. He knew of one that was close. Thunder boomed and he pressed her to him in a sexual way, unintentionally. his groin was pressed roughly on her.
