Trace and Me Only!

He nodded and watched her eat. "Have you decided," he asked her softly.

"I'm not sure..." she sighed, "I would love to stay here with you, but...my family...."

"I understand," he murmured. "Whenever you're ready, I'll take you back."

She just nodded and ate the rest or her food in silence.

He watched her eat the rest of her food, gently tucking some hair behind her ear.

She closed her eyes and nuzzled against his hand a little, she was seriously contimplating leaving, but he was makin it so damn hard.

He could feel her heart was beginning to tear, so he slowly took his hand away and kissed her forehead before getting up. He was tempted to kiss her and take her one more time, but he kept his distance so he wouldn't.

"Can you eat...regular food like this?" she asked after awhile, her voice shaking a little. Bethany thought the silence was deafening, too much tension in the air.

"We can only stomach a mouthful or two. Our stomachs are made for ingesting blood," he told her.

She nodded, "..has any of it ever tasted good to you...if you ever ate anything that is..."

"I've actually tried it once. It was disgusting," he wrinkled his nose with a chuckle.

She chuckled a little and smiled, "I'm sorry. You're missing out...does all blood taste the same?"

He huffed and shook his head. "Breedmate blood is much, much sweeter. Normal human blood is coppery."

She nodded, "What does...mine taste like?"

"Like you were made for me," he murmured. "Your blood tastes like heaven to me."

"Oh..." she blushed looking down and couldn't help but smile. How in the world could she tell him that she wanted to go home after that?

He chuckled softly, seeing her reaction. "I didn't mean to make your decision sway," he told her honestly. "Don't think you have to stay here with me. I can wait for you."

"Why wait for me?" she asked quietly, "You said if I went back to my family I wouldn't remember the past few days. I wouldn't remember you."

"If you are torn between me and your family, I will only suppress your memories while you stay with them, and release them after a year or two. I won't force you away from your family, Beth," he murmured softly, unable to stop himself from stroking her cheek. "I know they are important to you."

She nodded and kissed him, "I'm sorry...but I want to go back to my family... They're in a tough spot as it is...without me, they'd be out of an appartment."

"then allow me to give you money for them," he told her. "It'll be enough to buy your own house, all money upfront," he offered, stroking her cheek. She deserved nothing less than the best, not some apartment that they could hardly afford.

"I couldn't do that...I just really couldn't." she sighed a few tears rolling down her cheek

"You and your family obviously need the money," he countered, tenderly wiping the tears away. "What am I going to use it on?"

After a minute or two she agreed to it, "When am I leaving then?"

"Whenever you're ready," he murmured and glanced at the clock. "There's an hour before sunrise. Either now or tomorrow night."
