"What about silver?" Baily asked.

"Silver is werewolves, Bay."

"Not in True Blood." Baily thre back.

"Silver is silver," Damon shrugged. "Though too much metal in anyone's system is going to hurt. Titanium is best for taking care of Rogues. They burn to ashes in minutes."

"What about stakes?" She asked.

"Those kill them."

"Not in Moonlight!"

"You'd need to drug up a vampire really good before you got anywhere near him with a stake. Even then, it'd be best to stick with a blade."

"Why do you want to know so much? Planning on killing us," Niko asked, joking.

"That's the only thing I know about." she smiled. "Books and TV shows don't exactly show your good side."

"You guys don't sparkle, do you?" Fairly asked.

"Hell no," Niko shook his head. "No sparkling here."

"Well, we don't want humans coming to knock on our doors and offering casseroles," Damon chuckled. "We have to stay hidden. We'll burn in the sun, or any UV light. More than ten minutes, and we're done for."

"What about being invited through a threshold without being invited?" Baily asked.

"If they couldn't do that then we wouldn't have to be moving in here." Fairly said.

"We can go in homes without being invited in. We don't really have the need to, though," Damon chuckled.

"If we did go to your dorm, it'd be hard to hide two vampires from the sun, feed them, let them follow and protect you, and keep them from gaping eyes. Much more convenient down here," Niko chuckled.

"Can you guys shape shift?" She asked.

"No, not us. I'm sure there's at least one who can..." Niko thought aloud.

"Each vampire has a different ability. Some can read minds, others can know what you're feeling with just a touch, some can control fire. We inherit our mother's gifts," Damon explained.

Baily smiled and looked at her friend. "that means-"

"Baily, stop." she interpreted.

"But you can-"

"I said stop.... please bay?"

The two vampires looked at the girls curiously, their heads cocked to the side.

Baily stopped and then looked at the two guys again. "So, if you can't shape shift, what can you do?"

Fairly didn't want anyone to know about her ability. She never wanted that kind of popularity so she kept it a secret.

The two males looked at each other and sighed, turning back to the breedmates. "I can control fire," Damon told her. "And Niko is able to kill with a directed thought and touch."

She smiled but then frowned. "What if we don't have a power?" She asked. As far as she knew, she had nothing.

"It might be that you're drawn to something and you don't realize it. Or you have better sight or hearing than other humans. Or it might just not work on humans and only on Breed," he shrugged. "But every breedmate has one," he assured her.

She nodded. "Do we have to become a vampire to have your babies?" she asked.

Niko shook his head. "We cannot turn you into vampires. We're able to turn you into Minions, but be assured that we won't let that happen."

"Minions are mindless, heartless souls. Only powerful vampires can make them by drinking nearly all of their blood and putting their own blood into the near-corpse," Damon explained. "It's long been forbidden."

Baily nodded again "that's good that you wont let that happen I guess..."

"Why wont you turn us?" Fairly asked.

"Turn you into vampires? It's impossible. If you mean turn you into Minions, it's because we're sworn to protect you, not suck out your soul like that. It's barbaric," Niko frowned at the very thought.

"Why is it impossible?" She asked.

He shrugged. "It's not a disease or a virus. We were born vampires. If we bit you, we'll be bonded to you forever, same as if you drink our blood. That bond is sacred, though. Way deeper than marriage."

"Sounds kind of nice." Baily said softly.

"It is," Niko grunted, looking down at the table, remembering his lost mate.

Baily sighed and bit her lip. "Well, I'm all out of questions..."

"That's a first." Fairly mumbled.

"Shut up." Baily laughed, they teased each other a lot.
