" to get pregnant?" he frowned.

She shrugged. "It's Carlisle's theory."

Cody mumbled and went to sulk.

She sighed softly, her mood dropped considerably.

Cody wasn't happy about it like his dad was. And why should he be? A new baby would only shove him into a corner especially since the new baby would grow slower and would be more like the baby they wanted unlike him who grew up fast. he may have grew up fast but some of his emotions were still that of a toddler. It was a mental setback that Carlisle said he would have. Cody would eventually grow out of them as he got older in a few years but this didn't mean he wouldn't feel jealous. He thought he was special now the new baby would be more special than him.

Alex went to talk to him. "Cody, honey? What's wrong," she asked softly.

" I thought I was special...that I would be the only one" he said

"Honey, you are special," she told him sincerely. "You're our first baby. The one we've waited for, especially your father, for years."

" Really?" he looked up gently

She nodded. "When your dad and I were both human, it took us a few tries to get pregnant," she said gently. "And when I finally did and went into labor at full term, we were very very excited to see our baby. But then the baby was stillborn and I died giving birth," she said softly. "Your dad has been miserable until we came along. I was happy with your dad, but I was elated when you were born, Cody," she told him sincerely.

Cody hugged her and burried his face against her. " I love you"



Bryan walked in and sat by them .

She hugged her boy close. "I love you, too, honey. So, so much."

" I'm sorry I acted selfish" he said

"It's okay, honey," she soothed him. "Remember - your daddy and I will always love you," she kissed his cheek. "Always."

He nodded his head gently.

"Is there anything else bothering you, honey?"

Cody wasn't one to share his boyish desires....especially since he liked Nessie.

She kissed his cheek and leaned her head on her mate's shoulder, smiling up at him.

Bryan smiled gently at her and put his arm around her.

"What's the plan for this week," she asked him.

" Going to get out citzens cards then talk to a crew about getting our house built." he said

"Oh, fun," she smiled.

" Oh yeah" he laughed gently.

She chuckled and nuzzled him.

" Want to take a nice hot bath" he offered.
