A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.2

Nick held onto Ilane's hand, feeling helpless.

Brados nodded and picked her up, running swiftly and gracefully, so he didn't bounce Sam too much and risk hurting their baby. He got there within seconds and put her down gently.

Sam went into their den and took ilane's hand. shelooked at her mom. "The baby's coming out, isn't it?" she asked, just to make sure she was right.

Rika nodded. "Yes, it is," she murmured.

Nick stroked Ilane's hair, his eyes not leaving her face. He didn't want to see his dead child, he wanted to make sure Ilane would be alright.

"It hurts..." Ilane said, grabbing onto nick tightly.

"You're feeling horrible cramps, that's all this is... Don't push. It'll come out on it's own." Sam said, holding Ilane's hand, letting her mom watch if something went wrong.

Nick stroked Ilane's hair softly. "I know, baby," he murmured, holding her.

she moaned softly and the fetus slipped from between her thighs and Sam grabbed it for her mom before Nick or Ilane could see.

Nick stroked her hair softly and kissed her forehead, hating that sound of pain.

Sam rushed out of the den with the baby wrapped in a peice of cloth. She went to a fire where nobody was and put the dead baby in it. Crying softly.

"It's over, right?" Ilane asked.

Brados went with her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her, bending down and resting his head on her shoulder. "It's alright, love," he murmured softly to her, kissing her cheek.

Nick looked at his mom, who nodded. Nick looked back down at Ilane. "yes, love, it's over," he whispered and kissed her forehead.

Sam nodded. "But what if this happened to our baby? God...I'd be devastated."

Ilane sighed. "I'm okay to have more baby's, right?" she asked.

Brados held her close. "You know how overprotective I am of you, love. I would never let that happen to you or our baby," he rubbed her stomach softly.

Rika nodded. "Yes, you are. Let your body rest for a while before you try," she told her. "When the mother is healthy, the baby will be healthy. Remember that."

Sam smiled slightly and leaned against him. "I know... It just hurts seeing Ilane like that. And nick.... I'd hate to see that look of worry in your eyes."

Ilane nodded and leaned against Nick. "Later today, can you take me to get a bath?" She asked him.

Brados kissed her cheek. "It'll be alright, love."

Nick nodded and kissed her forehead. "Of course, baby," he murmured, stroking her hair. "Does it still hurt?"

"I know." she said softly, sighing.

She shook her head. "Not as much... it's just a dull ache." She said.

Brados smiled softly at her and kissed her cheek, stroking her hair.

Nick kissed her forehead. "That's good," he murmured, smiling softly.

Sam sighed, turning around and burrying her face in his chest.

Ilane closed her eyes then opened them to look at Nick. "Did you bring food?"

Brados stroked her hair, holding her close.

Nick chuckled and nodded, reaching over to get it for her. "Here you go, love. Luckily, there was some leftover bear," he smiled.

Sam sighed. "I'm hungry."


Ialen smiled, taking some of the bear. "Bears my favorite."

Brandon kissed her cheek and lifted her up, cradling her to his chest as he walked towards the food.

Nick smiled, seeing her smile again. "I know, that's why I got the last of it," he said and kissed her forehead.

Sam wrapped her legs around his waist, letting her head rest on his shoulder.

"What I wouldn't give for a gallon of ice cream..." She mumbled.

Brados sat her down by the food and started sniffing. "There's deer and bison, love," he told her. "And some fruit."

Nick kissed her forehead. "We don't have ice cream, sorry, love."

"I want some deer." She said, crawling to the nearest tree.

"Can you go to the human world and get me some?" she asked.

Brados nodded and grabbed some and sat down next to her, handing the meat to her. "Here you are, love," he kissed her forehead.

"Love, it took us two days to get to our old home," he murmured. "And we ran. It would all melt by the time I got back."

She smiled, eatng the meat happily. "Thank you my love."


"I don't care. Nick anything with sugar." Ilane said.

Brados smiled. "You're welcome, sweetheart," he told her happily.

Nick hesitated. He knew his father was still lingering around the pack; he didn't trust to leave Ilane for more than an hour.
