A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.1

"What do you want me to talk about," he asked her quietly.

"Anything. What do you remember from being a wolf before I got you?" she asked.

"Not much," he murmured. "I kind of remember my parents... My father, I think, was large as a wolf... My mother was the color of fallen leaves in her wolf form," he murmured as he thought.

"She sounds beautiful." she whispered.

He nodded. "She was, from what I remember. My brothers were big, even though they were still young. We all liked to play together in a field by the den."

"Play what?" She asked, slowly falling asleep to his voice.

"Sometimes we would play tag, sometimes we would wrestle, sometimes we would play hide-and-seek in the tall grass," he went on softly. "Sometimes they would teach me how to track."

"Were you any good at tracking?" she asked.

"I was okay. Everything was different, and I had trouble sorting the different scents. Eventually, I got the hang of it, though I wasn't nearly as fast as my brothers."

"Your brothers are big..." She mumbled. "I don't think anyone is as big as they are."

He nodded slowly. "Yes, I know. I don't think I'll ever grow that big," he chuckled softly.

She smiled. "you might."

[SORRY!!! I didn't see you'd replied! >.<" *head-desk* Stupid stupid stupid]

He smiled softly. "You think so? I'll have to do a lot more running around to build up those muscles."

((Don't worry about it. I got off for a while anyways.))

She smiled. "I'll run with you once I'm better."

He smiled. "I bet you'll be so fast that you'll beat me if we raced," he murmured. "I bet you'll be the most beautiful wolf of all."

She looked up at him, smiling. "Really?"

He smiled and nodded. "I'm sure of it," he kissed her cheek softly.

She smiled. "Thank you." she said softly, laying her head on his shoulder again.

He smiled softly, holding her close. "I love you," he whispered.

"I love you too." she whispered back.

He smiled softly and kissed her forehead, listening to the water gurgle past.

Slowly, she fell asleep again, clinging to his arm as if she'd fall again.

Nick held onto her, making sure she wouldn't fall. He held her closely, paying attention to their surroundings protectively.

About 4 hours later, she woke up. Only 4 hours to go. She could already feel her body was different.

Nick looked down when she woke up. "Hey, sleepy head," he murmured and kissed her forehead. "How are you feeling?"
