A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.1

She ate small peices but ate a lot. I mean, she hadnt eaten in about 24 hours. She was starving. What made her happy was she did it by herself. It took her a while, but she did it by herself. : )

He smiled once she finished. "Do you want anymore," he asked, happy she felt good enough to eat so much.

She shook her head. "I'm okay."

He nodded and kissed her forehead. "Alright, love. Do you feel any better?"

She shook her head. "Not really."

"Get some more rest," he suggested quietly. "You'll feel better soon."

"I don't want rest. I just want this to be over. Isn't there a way to speed this up?" she asked.

"If there is, I don't know it," Nick told her apologetically.

She sighed. "alright. how much longer do I have?"

"I'm not sure... Maybe just a few more hours, if that," Nick said, looking over at his brother.

Al shook his head. She still had about 8 hours of this.

Nick frowned and sighed sadly. "I'm afraid it's longer than just a few hours..."

She moaned. "I want this to be over...."

"I know, I'm sorry," he apologized softly, holding her close gently.

"Can you take me to the river please? I wanna see something different than what I've been looking at." She mumbled.

"Of course," he said and gently lifted her. "Tell me if it hurts," he murmured to her, standing slowly and walking to the river.

"It always hurts." she said softly, closing her eyes tightly.

"I'll be very gentle," he promised, sitting her down in his lap as he sat down with his bare feet in the water.

She sighed, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I love you Nick."

He held her close. "I love you, too, Ilane," he kissed her forehead. "I wish there was something I could do to make you feel better faster."

"You're doing a good job." she said softly, leaning against him.

He smiled at her softly and held her, listening to the water flow past them.

She closed her eyes, hoping to fall asleep again, but couldn't. She really just wanted to sleep the rest of this away since she had like 8 hours left. That's a long time and it was going by so slow.

Nick listened to the birds singing as he sat still and quiet, his arms around Ilane protetively.

"Nick, can you talk about something? I need to hear your voice." she asked.
