A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.1

She nodded. "It's amazing. Come on, lets get closer." she said. The hill had a bit of the cliff and the only way to get closer was to go close to the cliff.

"Alright. Be careful," he said, walking beside her, ready to catch her if she fell.

She held onto his hand. It wasn't that far down into the river below, but if they fell, it would hurt. She slipped and grabbed Nicks hand to keep from falling into the water. It wasn't a very good grip and she fell into the water, hitting some rocks'

Nick lost his grip on her hand and she fell into the river. Mentally cursing himself, he dove in after her, scraping himself on the rocks. He ignored it and swam towards her as fast as he could. "Ilane!"

Ilane had hit her head and was now riding the river down.

Nick pushed off the rocks as hard as he could and finally got close enough to pull her to him. Reaching the shore, he gently lifted her out. "Ilane, Ilane! Please be okay... Open your eyes, Ilane, come on," he practically begged, shaking her gently.

Al saw what happened and grabbed Ed and ran to his little brother. "Nick? Nick what happened?" he asked, looking at Ilane. She was hurt pretty badly. She had bruises all over her body and the side of her head was bleeding. She had some obvious broken bones.

"She wanted to see the waterfall, so we were walking towards it and she slipped. I didn't have a good-enough grip on her," he spoke quickly, panicking. "Ilane, wake up," he shook her again gently.

Al sighed. "We've got to get her back to the pack." He said softly. "Come on Nick. We'll get her dried off and comfortable"

Nick nodded slowly, gently picking Ilane up, cradling her to his chest. He stood and started walking back towards the pack.

Al walked with him. "You know, you might have to change her. Her wounds look pretty bad."

Nick shook his head. "Not until she asks me. I don't want to force the pain on her. There's no way to reverse it.... I want to wait until she's ready...."

"There's no way we can treat these broken bones." Al said, worried.

Nick looked down at Ilane sadly, torn. "...Alright..." he murmured. "...I'll turn her..."

"Wait a little while. Wait to see if she wakes up." Al said, leading them through the pack and to the tree they slept at the night before.

Nick nodded and gently laid her down, sitting next to her. He listened to her heartbeat and her breathing.

she slowly started to wake up a good while later. "Nick?" she mumbled, looking around.

Nick looked at her. "Ilane, you're awake! I'm so sorry... I should have had a better grip..."

She shook her head and closed her eyes. "It was my fault... It hurts... my whole body."

Nick frowned. "Ilane... Do you want to become one of us...? Right now...?"

"It'll stop this pain, right?" she asked, looking up at him.

He nodded. "It will heal you," he murmured, not wanting her to be in anymore pain.

She nodded. "I've wanted to be like you." she said.

He kissed her softly. "You will be," he whispered. "Once I bite you, the pain will last only twelve more hours, then you'll go into a coma. When you wake up, you'll feel like you have the flu. Once the final twelve hours are up, then I'll show you how to be a wolf," he told her gently.

She nodded. "alright. You'll be with me, right?"
