It's a Love Story

"You're not screwing with me like your friends, are you," she asked cautiously.

"No. I like you. I'm not playing any games, I promise." he said, stopping at a stop sign. "Where do you live?"

"Go right. I live right down this road. Number 63 on the right," she told him quietly. In all truths, she did have a little crush on him.

"Alright. So, will you go out with me? I mean, this date excluded." he smiled, turning then looking over at her.

She nodded. "Yes," she blushed. She couldn't believe someone as cute (okay, downright hot) was asking her out. She wasn't complaining, though. Not in the least.

Jon smiled and looked over at him. "Well, the night's still young. I know a place that's by the river, it's full of pretty lights. Would you want to go there with me?"

"That sounds nice," she admitted, trying to picture it in her head. "Does it cost anything?"

He shook his head. "no. Not unless you buy anthing."

"Can we go," she asked him.

"Of course. You want to drop your bike off at home? Or we could take it to my house, I'll fix it for you."

"I'll help you fix it," she said.

He smiled, nodding. "Alright. We'll take it to my house then, I don't live to far away. Then we'll go to the river." he said, turning around.

"I didn't mean to waste your gas, sorry," she apologized. "I didn't think about that..."

"It's all good. I've got a full tank right now and this truck get's good milage. I don't mind driving a little ways to see you smile. You have a pretty smile." he said, looking at her so she would know he was being truthful.

She blushed and hid behind her hair again, smiling softly. No one had ever told her that before.

He chuckled and started driving into the rich part of the town. The one with the big expensive houses.

Ren looked at the houses. "Wow, these are pretty," she said, looking at the big houses in awe. She lived in a double-wide with her parents. She never knew this area was there.

"Wait until you see my house. My mom designed most of it and my dad made sure that it got built." he smiled as he kept driving.

She looked at him. "Your parents get along well?"

He nodded. "they're in love. Still act like teenagers. I swear, sometimes when my sister has her boyfriend over and they're kissing and sometimes when my parents are kissing, it's hard to stay in the house." he chuckled. "But yeah, my dad will do anything for my mom." He said, pulling into his driveway.

Ren only half-heard what he was saying. She was staring open-mouthed at the house the driveway belonged to. "This place is HUGE," she gaped.

He chuckled and got out, going around to her door. "Would you like a tour?" he asked.

"Sure," she smiled, getting out of the truck.

He smiled and offered her his hand. "Come on."

She blushed softly, taking his hand. this had to be some kind of fairy tale. She had an old hand-me-down sundress on that was too big on her, not to mention faded with a few stains on it, and converses.
