Modern Day Beauty and the Beast

[Note: idea taken from Beastly by Alex Flinn]
[ANOTHER NOTE!!!!: things in ::[word]:: are important. thus they stand out]

A handsome young man, no older than 18, is every girls' dream guy. His father his rich, he's always had anything his :: desires. Unfortunately, he's completely full of himself, selfish, and looks down on those less ::beautiful:: than himself.

He asks a :: to the school dance, just to mess with her - he already had another date. He doesn't know this second :: is a ::witch::, however. He succeeds in messing with her, only to find she isn't crying like he thought she would. He gives the flower (a white rose he was going to give the witch), to a he'd never noticed before (probably because she's average-looking. At least to everyone there).

This , the same age as him -albeit a few months younger- had never been given anything and is extremely thankful for it.

After the dance, the ::witch:: goes to the handsome boy's house and turns him into a ::beast::. His father sees him and sends him off to live in a large house with their maid - his father didn't want anyone seeing his son. He, too, was vain.

The ::witch:: tells the boy that in :two years:, if he didn't find ::love:: and if his love didn't ::kiss him::, then he would be a beast for the rest of his life.

One night, about a year later, the beasts's house gets broken into. The man is the father of the he gave the white rose to, and offers the beast his daughter, in hopes the beast would let him go and not call the police.

A week later, the shoes up, scared and angry.

What will the beast do win the girl's love? Will he succeed?

Personality: He is rather impatient and harsh at times but underneath it he is very caring and loving person.


Short bio: He was arrogant and selfish. He thought he could have it all. And to prove that he decided to take two girls at the same time. He figured both would deal with his choice of having two dates at once. But that was not it. He was decieved. The woman's beauty melted away to reveal a beautiful Enchantress. He tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen there was no love in his heart. And as punishment she tranformed him into a hideous Beast.
And the rose was indeed and enchanted rose that would bloom till his twenty third year. If he could learn to love another and earn her love in retun then the spell would be broken...if not....he would be doom to remain a beast for all time. Within the following year he fell into despair, for who could ever learn to love a beast?

She's a quiet girl, very smart, and loves to read. She doesn't like stereotypes (since she doesn't understand half of them to begin with) and tries not to judge based on looks and one-time conversations.
She lives with her father, a low-life drug dealer, in a shabby apartment in the city. Though he treats her like a slave, she loves him, though half the time she hates him. She tries to keep him happy until he passes out, at least, so she can go back to reading.

Amy got out of the cab, looking up at the big house. House seemed to be too small to describe this place - maybe a mansion would suffice? She gazed at the building until her dad shoved her forward so he could get out. She stumbled forward and caught herself, grumbling as she looked back at her dad.

"Get yer stuff, kid. Hurry - I ain't got all damn day," her father said.

Sighing, she opened the trunk and got her luggage, only one ratty suitcase with her clothes and hairbrush in it. And her favorite books, of course. She followed her father up to the front door and waited rather anxiously as he rang the doorbell and ran for the cab. She watched him go, actually kind of pissed at him, and refrained from stomping her foot in frustration as the cab drove off.
