A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.3

He blinked at her, honestly confused. "Come on," he smiled offering her his hand. They were halfway to his favorite place.

"My name is Dane. What's yours?" she asked, walking with him.

"I'm Conall," he smiled at her.

"Conall. I like it. It means wolf, literally, did you know that?" she asked.

He shook his head. "No, I didn't. That's cool," he smiled.

She smiled and nodded. "Yes. It is cool. My name mean's From Denmark... Not very cool." she mumbled.

"But it's a pretty name," he told her.

She blushed. "Thank you."

He smiled. "You're welcome." They finally arrived at the river, and Conall smiled happily. "This is my favorite place to play."

"What do you do here?" she asked.

"Play with the water, mostly. And I can watch my sister play from right here. She's over there," he pointed across the field. "She's funny to watch sometimes," he chuckled.

Dane sat down, watching the little girl across the feild pounce at butterflies, completly missing most of the time. It seemed as if the butterflies were playing with her. Her pack mate stood awkwardly watching her, not sure what to do. She smiled. "She's cute... You must love her.." she said softly to Conall.

Zach sat in his wolf form, not sure what to do. Was she catching the butterfly to eat it? He didn't quite understand the point.

Conall smiled. "Yes, I do. I love both of my sisters. My younger sister is still just a baby. Her name is Izzy."

Kale stopped and looked at Zach. "What? You've never chased butterflies before?" She asked, panting slightly.

"Izzy?" Dane asked. "Your mom picks odd names."

Conall shrugged. "Daddy would have helped, but he left for a while to hunt down the members of his mean pack so they'd leave us alone. One of them almost killed Uncle Kendal, his little brother..." he shivered and shook his head, pushing the memory of the fight out of his head.

Zach shook his head. Father only ever let us fight, not play...

Dane nodded. "He did a good thing, your father."

You've nevr played?!Kale asked, shocked. She got into a playing position, tagging him then jumping away. ((like in Lion King 2 ^_^))

[Yeah, I know! ^^]

Conall smiled and nodded. "I agree. I'm glad Daddy came home, though. We didn't know if he was coming back. Mommy was really sad for a long time."

Zach shook his head and blinked as she crouched down. I don't like fighting... he said, pulling his ears back.

"Your dad loves your mom?" Dane asked, a little shocked that it happened.

We're not fighting... We're playing. Kale said, standing fulling, looking a little confused.

Conall blinked, shocked that she was shocked. "Yeah, of course. That's how our pack finds their mates."

Zach tilted his head. But it looked like fighting... I'm confused.

"Wow... This pack is odd..." she said softly.



It's tag. You're suppose to try to get me... Kale said softly.

Conall tilted his head. "Why are we odd?"

Zach cautiously crouched down, his ears still back. I'll try...

((Brados or maybe Nick should com in, thinking that Zach was attacking Kale.

"Because... You don't hit... You love. Your mommy's get to pick names." She listed, looking down.

Kale smiled, crouching down, her tail wagging. She pounced at Zach playfully, jumping back again.

Nick decided to check on his niece and nephew. He saw Conall and the girl first, talking by Conall's favorite hang out. Then, as he looked out more, he saw the boy leaping onto Kale. Thinking the worst, Nick growled and shifted into his wolf form, running for his niece.

Conall blinked. "That's weird?" he jumped back as his uncle ran past them towards his sister.

Dane looked at here the male wolf was running and covered her mouth with both hands. "Oh Zach..." she sighed. The little boy had been through a lot.

Kale laughed, playing the best she could with Zach until her uncle was suddenly between her and the boy, growling. Uncle Nick! Stop! We were playing! she said. Even though she knew nick wouldn't hurt her, her tail was between her legs slightly and her ears were flat. He had surprised her was all.

Conall looked at Dane, then back towards his sister, uncle, and the boy.

Zach yiped in surprise and backed up, completely submissive. He couldn't say a word - he was so scared.

Nick looked back at his neice, then back at the boy, who was shaking in fear.
