| One of the guards rushed up to Andrew as they were eating. "Sir! We have news from the North," he said, saluting him and bowing to Amy.
"What news," Andrew asked him.
The guard looked hesitant. He didn't want to discuss war matters in front of a woman. He didn't want to scare her. "The King wishes you a happy wedding. He will be unable to attend. The western kingdom has chosen to wage war against our King."
Andrew frowned. "That's disturbing news," he said, thinking. "Does he wish help from my land?"
"He has stated he needs one hundred soldiers from each city, and more should be waiting to leave," the guard told him, reading that part of the letter. | |
