Alex stroked her cheek gently, a feather's weight across her skin.

She eventually woke up, extremely early the next morning.

Alex was asleep, his arm and body curling around her protectively.

She smiled when she saw him sleeping, settling back in to his embrace. She didn't want him to ever let go...

He woke up about an hour later, yawning. "Mmm... morning," he nuzzled her adoringly.

She smiled, kissing him back. "Morning sweetie."

He smiled and stretched. He laid there for a moment before he sat up. "We should get going," he murmured.

She was fearful. These were her last few hours as a human... What would she do from here on out. She was so lost that she didn't even hear Alex speaking until she repeated his statement in her head. "Oh... Oh, right..."

He took her hand in his and squeezed it gently. "I will never leave your side," he whispered his promise and kissed her.

She smile, kissing him with a gentile way about her. She didn't want to be a burden today, but she was very sacred...

He stroked her cheek softly. "You don't have to change," he whispered. "But we have to move. It isn't safe here."

She blinked then smiled gently. "I do have to change... Its what will keep me with you as long as possible... And whenever you're ready to go, let me know."

He kissed her softly. "I can sense your fear, love," he whispered. "It's thick in the air. Don't be afraid, your body might reject the change and I'll lose you forever. I'll be with you the entire time - I promise. I won't let anything happen to you."

She closed her eyes tightly, trying to flush out her fears. Hopefully she could gain some confidence by the time the change was started.

He stroked her cheek as she calmed herself. "There," he said softly, smiling tenderly at her.

She blushed, kissing him gently. "Better?"

He nodded, smiling at her as he kissed her softly.

She smiled, actually feeling quite relaxed now."So... When should we leave?"

"Whenever you're ready," he kissed her softly.

She sat up, rubbing her face. "As soon as possible..."

He nodded and kissed her softly. "We'll leave as soon as you're ready. I'll go pack some food. You'll be starving later. A starving wolf is a grumpy one," he chuckled.

She blushed, kissing him before he left the room. Pulling her dress off the floor, she slid it on and began to pack a duffel bag. Piling in shorts and shirts, she finished in a matter of moments and headed out into the kitchen to find Alex.

Alex had a big collapsible cooler full of food ready when she got to the kitchen. He smiled. "Ready?"

She nodded, dropping her bag on the floor. "Ready as I'll ever be..."

He pulled her close and kissed her passionately, enough to make her turn to jelly. He needed to keep her relaxed, not afraid.
